The Rye Football team scored on all five of their first half possessions in Week 2 as they swamped Fox Lane 35-7 on Friday, September 19. The Garnets entered the contest as favorites and left no doubt, as they rested starters for the entire second half.

“We got lots of kids in during the second half, even the end of the second quarter,” Head Coach Dino Garr told MyRye.com after the game. “Carson [Miller] had a great game. The defense did well – they were aggressive, forcing turnovers. I was very pleased.”

Miller threw for four first-half scores, including a pair of long ones to Henry Shoemaker. He also connected with Nigel Strazzini. All of his damage came in the first half. Charlie Garnett punched in two rushing scores to account for the rest of the scoring. Neither team scored in any capacity in the second half, as Rye coasted their 35-7 halftime lead into the same final score.

35-7 is relevant because it is only one point off of Steve “The OG” Feeney’s pregame prediction of 34-7 Rye.

The Garnets (3-0) have a tough opponent ahead on the schedule in Week 3, as they host Clarkstown North on Friday, September 26 at 7:00pm under the lights of Nugent Stadium. Watch it here. Replay the Fox Lane win here.
