Rye Football will look to being the 2025 season 4-0 on Friday, September 26, as they host Clarkstown North for a 7:00pm contest under the lights at Nugent Stadium in Week Three.

For the game preview, we turn to the Steve “The OG” Feeney, the voice of Garnet football:

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 26                   CLARKSTOWN NORTH RAMS @ NUGENT STADIUM                       7:00PM

Penning about the Purple and Gold is extremely difficult due to:

  • No trip over the Tappan Zee Bridge to Rockland Land
  • No meaningful, historical football rivalry customs and traditions
  • Only four (4) games ever played – Rye leads 3-1-0 (.750)
  • For decades, the Rockland High Schools competed in Section 9 before petitioning to join Section One Athletics

Now for some animal husbandry concerning the CLARKSTOWN NORTH RAMS:

Rams are domesticated male sheep descended from wild mouflon of Europe (France) and Asia. Females of the species are sheep raised primarily for wool, meat (lamb and mutton), and milk. Rams (male) and sheep (female) are grazing herbivores tended by shepherds.

The Garnets butt horns with the Rams on another beautiful Nugent Night. The Old Garnet calls this one: GARNETS 24 – RAMS 14

SLAM THE RAMS            JAM THE RAMS              CRAM THE RAMS             SPAM THE RAMS             CALM THE RAMS
