RYE’S GARNET & BLACK VERSUS THE GREEN & WHITE of the MINISINK VALLEY WARRIORS
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 21 @ 6:00PM @ ARLINGTON HIGH SCHOOL

The Garnets march into State play against the undefeated Section Nine champion Minisink Valley Warriors with a 6:00pm kick-off at neutral site Arlington High School in Lagrangeville, NY.

Section Nine teams historically cast as worthy and common opponents by the Garnet Faithful include Port Jervis, Cornwall, Our Lady of Lourdes of Poughkeepsie (“OLL”) and Suffern. Point of fact – for many decades OLL was a member of Section One before applying to transfer to Section Nine.

The Warrior green and white average 36 points per game while allowing only 14. Rye’s scorecard reads 47 points of offense on average while yielding a scant 19, many of which were scored in 4th quarter “garbage time” when outcomes weren’t in doubt.

In a similar 2021 playoff encounter, the scoreboard read Rye 31- Minisink Valley 21 as the clock ticked down to 00:00.

The OG likes the Garnets again this time but at a more dominant 42-13.
