The Rye Hockey team settled for their second consecutive tie on Saturday, January 24, drawing even with Queensbury 4-4. The Garnets finished the weekend with two ties against two upstate opponents, avoiding the loss column but extending their winless streak to three games.

“We dominated long stretches of this game and drove play, outshooting them 41-28,” Head Coach Pete Thomas told MyRye.com. “We deserved a much better outcome but unfortunately had to settle for another tie.”

Jamie Morris scored two goals for the second straight game to lead the Garnets in scoring, also chipping in one assist. Jake Souza (one goal, one assist), Will Weinman (two assists), and Trevor Dolan (two assists) all had multiple points as well. Jack McGill scored a power-play goal as he continues to succeed in an elevated role.

Rye (9-2-3) will look to get back into the win column next on Wednesday, January 26, as they face off against Rye Country Day. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:45pm at Playland. The Garnets will seek to avenge last year’s overtime defeat and snap a recent 0-1-2 skid.
