Sixteen comments remain.

The Osborn retirement home nudged closer to a Planning Commission approval for its expansion plans Tuesday evening, May 26, 2026. The City’s outside consultant, LaBella, reviewed the latest documents provided by the Osborn and its consultant. In a letter dated May 20th, La Bella lists 16 comments overwhelmingly focused on The Osborn stormwater retention plans that must still be addressed.

Andrew Tung, a civil engineer and planner at DTS Provident Design Engineering working on behalf of The Osborn, said they had only just begun to review La Bella’s 16 comments but expected to complete their work as soon as this week.

Glen Oaks resident Mary Ann Haines spoke at the hearing, raising continued concerns about flooding at the south west corner of ther property at Osborn Road, in addition to traffic and disruption at the Osborn Elementary School during the multi-year construction process. She presented a petition with 196 signatures that requests the Planning Commission require The Osborn to complete an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).

The Planning Commission kept its public hearing open with the expectation that all parties will return to its next meeting on Tuesday, June 9.
