The Rye Police Department has arrested a driver on an outstanding felony DWI warrant from the New York State Police.

Last Wednesday, June 17th, 2026, a Rye Police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for multiple vehicle and traffic violations in the area of Midland Avenue and Peck Avenue. The driver initially provided a false name and stated he had no forms of identification or driver’s license.

It was later determined the driver’s true identity was Julio Palma, age 39, of White Plains. Once officers confirmed his identity, it was revealed the subject had an active felony DWI warrant from the New York State Police and was also driving with a revoked license.

Officers took Palma into custody for aggravated unlicensed operation and transported him to headquarters for processing. At the conclusion of his arrest, Palma was turned over to the New York State Police. Rye PD reminds you that booking charges are merely accusations and the defendant(s) are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
