Charles “Chuck” Tedesco passed away peacefully on July 3rd, 2026, at the age of 77. He is survived by his sons, John and Peter; he was expected to be a grandfather to John’s first child due in December. Chuck was born on February 13, 1949, in the Bronx, and was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Alice (Merli) Tedesco. His elder sister, Ellen, and younger brother, Michael, survive him along with their children and grandchildren.
Chuck was born in New York City and spent the early part of his childhood in the South Bronx. His family later settled in Rye, New York, where he spent his adolescence and graduated from Rye High School in 1967. Following graduation, Chuck served his country by joining the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, training as an aeronautical engineer in Florida. Wherein he maintained jet engines for the Blue Angels. After serving, he completed his aeronautical training in Queens, New York. Chuck often used his training and skills to fix boat and motorcycle engines in his spare time. His lifelong passion project was rebuilding a 1967 Triumph. He spent his life working as a project manager for Taconic Builders Inc. before retiring.
Chuck carried the values of discipline, dedication, and patriotism with him throughout his life. He will be most remembered as a “helper.” He was a dedicated firefighter in the Volunteer Mamaroneck Fire Department, serving as a Captain on Engine 38 at Station 4. He dedicated over thirty years of his life to the VMFD. He was a proud member of the Byram Veterans Association and the Cubato Club, where he enjoyed the fellowship of lifelong friends.
Additionally, Chuck was a Freemason and a dedicated member of the Masonic Temple, further highlighting his sense of duty and service to others. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Chuck’s life at visitation and funeral services; details will be announced at a later date. In place of flowers, donations may be made in Chuck’s memory to the Mamaroneck Volunteer Fire Department or a veterans’ organization of the donor’s choice.
