Rye police are saying a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Playland Parkway last Thursday may be connected to commercial burglaries in the area.
On Thursday, October 15, 2026, at approximately 4:00 a.m., a City of Rye police officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Playland Parkway. A brief pursuit ensued but was subsequently terminated by the officer.
The police suspect that this vehicle may be connected to commercial burglaries in the area. In a statement, Rye PD commended the officer for their vigilance and proactive police work, which they say may have prevented a potential burglary during the overnight hours.
Rye police said the matter remains under active investigation by multiple local jurisdictions.
