Rye Town Park Featured Events for Summer 2016
Rye Town Park, the 62-acre park and beach located in the City of Rye, will be offering the public a wide range of ways to enjoy the park during the summer of 2016.
Free events being offered include:
- The Twilight Tuesdays Concert Series, offering 7 concerts from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the south pavilion, starting on June 21 (the first day of summer); two rain dates are set aside in case of severe storms; otherwise it’s “rain or shine;”
- A series of 7 “Storytime” events on Tuesday mornings from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. at the south pavilion, starting July 5 — led by staff members of the Rye Free Reading Room;
- A Children’s Magic show — the Magic of David Rosenstein – on the northeast lawn, Thursday, July 14, from 7:00 to 7:45 p.m. followed by
- An Outdoor Movie – “Because of Winn Dixie” starting about 8:30 p.m. – also on the northeast lawn; the rain date is Thursday, July 21;
- Shakespeare In The Park – “Twelfth Night” at 6 p.m. on Saturday August 6 and Sunday August 7, with the Rain Date on Thursday, August 11;
- The Westchester Triathlon Fitness/Sports Gear Expo, on Saturday September 24 and Sunday, September 25 on the lawn by the beach path;
Parking fees for the Concerts and Shakespeare are: $5 for non-permit holders, $4 for permit holders, and free for senior resident permit holders. Parking for the Magic Show/Outdoor Movie and Storytime events are $2.
