In Memory: Edward James Shaw, Former Davis Brother’s Mobil Station Owner, Age 78

Obituary - Edward J. ShawEdward James Shaw, a lifetime Mamaroneck resident, passed away August 20, 2021, at age 78. He was born May 24,1943, to William and Gertrude Shaw. Ed spent a lifetime in the automotive business. He was the owner/operator of Davis Brother’s (Mobil) in Rye from 1974-2006, where he enjoyed working with his dear friend, Skip Donohue.

Ed was a past chief and more than 50-year active member of the Village of Mamaroneck Volunteer Fire Dept- Columbia Engine & Hose Co #2. He proudly held every elected position and also enjoyed driving the fire trucks.

A lover of animals, he was the past president for 25 years for the Southern NY Beagle Club in Yorktown Heights. Ed also served as chairman for AKC dog show events both Field Trials and Special Conformation and was a liaison to the clubs, NYS DEP and DEC. In addition to all his cherished organizations, Ed was a member of the Vittorio III Society. He was a car enthusiast and traveled to many shows in the area. He owned several classic cars, trucks and motorcycles.

Ed married the love of his life, Joann (nee Triolo). They married in 1965 and settled in Mamaroneck. He leaves behind his devoted wife, along with cherished daughter, Carollynn Lutcza (Craig) and loving grandchildren, Lena and Alex. He is the dear brother of the late William Shaw, and brother in law of Cookie Triolo and the late Dominick Triolo. To honor Ed’s life, family and friends will gather Monday 4-8pm at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME 767 E. Boston Post Rd Mamaroneck, 914-698—5968, where a service will be held on Tuesday 11am.
