Girls Varsity Soccer Sends Byram Hills Up 684 Empty-Handed; Captures League Title
Rye Girls Varsity Soccer sent Byram Hills up 684 empty-handed Monday, winning the home game 4-1 and capturing the league title.
“Rye had an impressive start against their league rival Byram Hills,” said Rye Girls Varsity Soccer Rich Savage. “Alex Verna opened the scoring up for Rye. Annabelle Thomas netted the second goal for Rye, while the third goal came from Reilly Traynor. Byram Hills answered with a goal from Sara Grgurovic. Rye quickly replied with an upper 90 goal from Maddy Walsh.”
It was impressive that Rye received goals from four different players. Marissa Fink was solid in the outside back shutting down Byram and attacking from the back for Rye.
