Boys Varsity Lacrosse Tops Yorktown
Rye Boys Varsity Lacrosse topped Yorktown on Saturday, winning the away game 9-7.
“Play of the game was definitely Carter Barford’s game tying goal with 10 seconds left in the first half,” said Rye Boys Varsity Lacrosse Coach Steve Lennon. “The long pole has scored 4 goals in the last six games. I was really happy with the way we were able to ride the waves. We went down 3-0 in the first quarter, and we were able to keep our heads up and stay the course. Our defense did a really good job containing All-American attackmen Harry Griff, and the offense went on timely runs.”
The team’s season improved to 4-2. Varsity plays Coldspring Tuesday at 5pm.
