24 Year Old Arrested for Stolen License Plates

On Friday, Rye PD arrested a 24 year old man from Port Chester for possession of stolen license plates. Police officers were patrolling the rear of the Courtyard Marriott parking lot at 631 Midland Avenue and conducted a traffic stop on a 2010 Honda Accord because the vehicle’s license plate was reported stolen.

Officers from the City of Rye Police Department then arrested Nigil Brewington, age 24, of Port Chester, New York, for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th Degree – a class A misdemeanor. The vehicle had been in the possession of Brewington.

Brewington was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th Degree. He was processed and released on his own recognizance with desk appearance ticket returnable to Rye City Court on April 23, 2024. Rye PD reminds you that booking charges are merely accusations and the defendant(s) are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
