The Rye Volleyball team could not find a way to close out their home opener on Thursday, September 10, as they fell to Dobbs Ferry in four sets. The Garnets won the first set in extra points 28-26, but lost the next three consecutively 19-25, 23-25, and 23-25 again. Other than the second set, there was hardly a margin between the two clubs.
Audre Campbell led the Garnets’ offense and defense with 15 kills and five blocks, both team highs. Katie Hillis and Giorgia Brizio both produced seven kills, also combining for five service aces and 16 digs. Caroline Korian also chipped in four kills with 15 digs, second behind only Margo Ehrenberg’s 21. Amelie Modesto distributed 43 assists in her season-best effort.
