RYE GARNETS HOST ARDSLEY’S PANTHERS ON SENIOR NIGHT – FRIDAY, OCTOBER 13 @ 7:00PM @ NUGENT STADIUM
The ARDSLEY PANTHERS, an original and founding member of the CWL (Central Westchester League, 1968-1975), first appeared on Rye’s schedule in 1968, and now reappear at Nugent for the first time in over twenty years. After forfeiting the 1995 season, the Ardsley football program folded due to a lack of interest and an under-the-roster-minimum number of players. As a result, the series was dormant until 2000.
Friday’s scratching will only be the third cat fight since the turn of the century. Over the ensuing years Rye has been solidly in Class A and the Blue and Gold comfortably playing a Class B schedule. Hence the lack of any recent scheduling history. Since scheduling inception, the Garnet & Black have clawed into feline dominance at 14-7-0 (.667).
