Do not forget the City of Rye and American Legion Post 128 will be hosting the local Veteran’s Day ceremony at Rye City Hall on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 10:30am.

In addition, from 2:00pm – 3:00pm Saturday, members of the Jay Cemetery Association and the Jay Heritage Center will gather to honor patriot and peacemaker John Jay at the private cemetery he established in Rye in 1807 for himself and his descendants. The cemetery is only opened on special occasions (typically Memorial Day) at which time the public is invited to pay their respects to the veterans interred there.

Ceremony at the Jay Cemetery is at 2:00pm. The cemetery is reachable by walking path after parking at the Marshlands Conservancy (see this map pin). Free public reception at the Jay Mansion is from 3:00pm – 4:00pm.
