An earthquake was felt in Rye on Friday morning.

Initial reports indicate a 4.8 magnitude earthquake occurred at 10:23 am Friday, April 5th, 2024 centered in Lebanon, New Jersey, approximately 75 miles from Rye. The Rye Police Department announced around 10:45am it had received no reports of damage or injury associated with the event.
