MyRye.com features dogs and cats that are up for adoption by Pet Rescue, a no kill pet shelter in Harrison.

Status: Adoptable
Age: 10 years
Breed: DLH – Domestic Long Hair
Gender: Female
Small (35 lbs & under)

Born in 2014, Mona is a mature lady looking for a very special forever family. She is gentle but very shy. Mona is comfortable with other cats, but it has taken her several months to come out of her shell and allow pet shelter volunteers to approach her and even longer to accept petting without running for cover.

Mona can often be found lounging in a window bed or spending time with the other cats in the room. She often seeks the comfort of another friendly furry friend and doesn’t mind sharing a cozy bed. Mona is still wary of new people and requires a patient, gentle introduction to visitors. We believe she will thrive in a quiet home with consistent, loving care and a knowledgeable adopter. Mona would do best in a calm environment, without children or dogs. She would be a wonderful companion for another calm feline friend. Mona requires a home with an experienced cat owner.

If you want to meet Mona, or any of the other cats or dogs at Harrison’s Pet Rescue, you can learn more about the adoption and foster processes, email ([email protected]) or call ((914) 835-3332). The shelter is located at 7 Harrison Avenue in Harrison. You can also volunteer at the shelter.
