Rye Girls Varsity Golf Head Coach Rich Savage has named his MVP for the 2025 season: senior Myla Bisceglia.
“For the past four years, Myla Bisceglia has been a cornerstone of the Rye High School Girls Golf team,” Savage told MyRye.com. “A four-year starter and two-year captain, Myla’s commitment to the program, her teammates, and the game of golf has been nothing short of extraordinary.”
Bisceglia has been a star for all four of her years on varsity, which culminated with a sixth place finish at the 2025 state qualifier match on May 19 and 28. She earned the right to play on the state team for the second time, although she could not attend.
“Whether she’s on the range perfecting her swing or walking the course with her teammates, Myla brings a calm and confident presence that elevates everyone around her,” Savage continued. “As a captain, she led with humility, positivity, and a fierce competitive spirit—setting the standard for what it means to be a Garnet golfer.”
Bisceglia concludes her varsity career as a 4x All-League honoree, 3x All-Section, and two-time Section 1 NYS golf team member. “These honors reflect not only her skill, but her unwavering dedication to improving her game year after year,” Savage said. “She has earned the respect of both her teammates and opponents.”
All the impressive drives, chips, and putts Bisceglia nailed not only in 2025, but in her career, Savage credits to Bisceglia’s steadfast attitude and determination to improve her game, regardless of her growing trophy case.
“Beyond the accolades, what truly sets Myla apart is her drive,” Savage said. “She’s always striving to be better – whether it’s lowering her score, helping a teammate fine-tune their putting stroke, or analyzing her rounds to find areas to improve. Her passion for the game and her steady leadership have been vital to the team’s success.”
Bisceglia is heading to Providence College next year to continue her academic and athletic career at the Division 1 level. With how much success she has had at Rye, Savage and many others will be shocked if she does not make a major impact with the Friars in her next chapter.
“Congratulations, Myla, and thank you for leaving such a meaningful legacy on and off the course,” Savage concluded.
