Jeffrey George Slater Sr., known affectionately to friends and family as Jeff, passed away at the age of 63 on July 30, 2025, in Danbury, CT. Born on November 29, 1961, Jeff’s infectious laughter and selfless spirit touched everyone he met.

Jeff leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication, most notably to his beloved wife Regina, and his cherished children, Jeffrey and Anthony. His role as a grandfather was one he embraced with joy, bestowing affection and wisdom upon his grandchildren, Tanner and Dylan – fondly referred to as Mr. Pickle. Jeff’s brother Danny and sister Debby will also hold dear the memories of a brother who was a beacon of kindness in their lives. Jeff is predeceased by his parents Jimmy and Carol Ann, his daughter Nicole, his brother Jimmy and his sister Dawn.
An esteemed operating engineer for the Local 15 union out of Long Island City, Jeff’s work ethic and commitment to his craft were unparalleled. His colleagues knew him as a man who not only dedicated himself to his work but also brought humor and light-heartiness to the job site. Jeff’s passion for his work was matched only by his love for his family and his interests.
A true New York Yankees fan, Jeff could often be found engaged in lively discussions about the latest games or sharing his vast knowledge of the team’s history. His love for food and genuine interest in others’ well-being led to many heartfelt conversations about daily life. Jeff’s grandchildren were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment he spent with them, no matter how brief.
Those who knew Jeff will remember him as the embodiment of selflessness. His kindness was a constant source of comfort to those around him, and his sense of humor brought laughter in times of both joy and sorrow. Jeff’s presence was a gift to all who had the pleasure of knowing him, and his memory will continue to inspire and comfort his family and friends.
As we say goodbye to Jeff, we celebrate a life lived with unwavering kindness, infectious laughter, and a love for others that knew no bounds. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered as a pillar of strength, a loving family man, and a friend to all. Jeff’s spirit will live on in the stories shared, the laughter he induced, and the profound impact he had on the lives he touched.
The family will receive friends at the Graham Funeral Home on Monday August 4, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 PM.
