The Rye Girls Soccer team continued to roll in 2025 on Tuesday, October 7, smothering Harrison in a 3-0 victory. The Garnets controlled play from start to finish for their second clean sheet against Harrison this season and ninth overall on the season (12 games).

“From the opening whistle, Rye dictated the tempo, controlling possession and creating quality scoring chances through crisp passing and composed play,” Head Coach Rich Savage told MyRye.com. “The breakthrough came off a corner kick when Hannah Jachman finished a well-placed ball from Harkin Brown to give Rye an early lead.”

Rye drew the Huskies 0-0 on the road on September 15, so Jachman’s goal was more than just a typical icebreaker. It kickstarted a strong offensive day for the entire team, highlighted by Parker Calhoun (one goal, one assist), Clare Nemsick (Rye’s third goal of the game), and Brown (assists on Rye’s first two goals).

Blake Sasse drew the start in goal for Savage and delivered with a shutout. She and Tessa Labowitz have combined to allow just three goals in twelve games, and never more than one in any individual game. Rye actually has a better winning percentage when they allow a goal (3-0, 15 goals for) than when they don’t (6-0-3, 21 goals for). Either way, they will enter their next game at 9-0-3, 4-0-3 in league play, and with a goal differential of +33 (36 goals scored, 3 goals against).

Said next game is at 7:00pm on Friday, October 10, at home against Ursuline. Rye will look to extend their win streak to seven and complete revenge row – the Garnets tied the Koalas 0-0 on September 11. They have already beaten the other two teams they tied in early September – Harrison yesterday, and Eastchester on September 27. Watch the Ursuline game here. Replay the Harrison win here.
