The Rye Girls Soccer team celebrated senior night in a big way on Friday, October 10, as they took down Ursuline 5-1. The Garnets celebrated their eight players in the class of 2026 before the game began and honored them with an offensive avalanche during play, leaving fans wondering if the night should instead be labeled “5enior night.”
“Rye came out strong on Senior Night and controlled the pace from the start,” Head Coach Rich Savage told MyRye.com. “Clare Nemsick anchored the defense with another standout performance.”
While Nemsick stood strong on defense, and Tessa Labowitz handled her duties in goal, it was the underclassmen who propelled the Garnets to victory. Shira Rand scored in the 12th minute as part of a four-point night (one goal, two assists). Charlotte Keenan scored twice, Parker Calhoun converted a penalty kick, and Ryann O’Donnell scored her first of the year. Harkin Brown continued a strong campaign with a two assist performance, as all four of Rye’s goals outside the penalty kick were assisted.
