Joan Floria Roode, a life-long resident of Rye, New York, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, at the age of 88.Joan was born in Port Chester, New York to Moses and Ella Floria. The loving wife of Walter Roode and mother of Richard Roode and Sandra (Scott) McIver, proud grandmother of Brendan Roode, Sean McIver, and Colin McIver, dear sister-in-law to Oralee (William) Floria and many cherished nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Moses and Ella Floria, her brothers William Floria and Clifford Floria, her sisters Pricilla Floria Hansen and June Floria McNulty and daughter-in-law Tamara Colligan Roode (Richard).
Joan retired from the Rye City School District Business Office in 2005 after many years of service.
The family will receive friends at the Graham Funeral Home, 1036 Boston Post Road, Rye, New York, on Monday, December 8, 2025 from 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
A graveside service will take place at Greenwood Union Cemetery, 215 North Street, Rye, New York 10580, on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 11:00 am.
