The snowstorm in Rye, NY is underway.

It was 8 degrees Fahrenheit early Sunday. The National Weather Service for Sunday said: “Snow before 4pm, then snow and sleet. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 29. Wind chill values between zero and 10. Blustery, with a northeast wind 8 to 13 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of 7 to 11 inches possible.”

The winter storm is expected to continue through most of Monday.

Many businesses have announced closures for both Sunday and Monday. The Rye PD is urging residents to delay travel is possible and stay off the roads.
