United States attorney for the District of Columbia, Trump loyalist and local resident Jeanine Pirro is suing the City of Rye for $250,000 in a “trip and fall” case. Pirro claims her spill, along the Post Road by Rye City Hall, was due to negligence on behalf of the City and Con Edison in the wake of gas main work. The suit documents read like they could be a version of the weekday television show Judge Jeanine Pirro on The CW she hosted from 2008 – 2011.

In a witness statement to the Rye Police Department and signed by Pirro and responding Officer Stephen Rose, Pirro said she was crossing the street near Library Lane and Boston Post Road.

“Next thing I know-I am face planted on my right side…,” said Pirro in the statement. “I had blood on my lips and my hands (my glasses were broken) – open scrape on my knee… After a few minutes, I walked back into the street and saw a protrusion sticking out of gravel where I fell.”

A photo from the Rye PD report shows a road patch job where Pirro said she took her fall. In the police documents, Pirro reports her address as Beachwood Circle just off Milton Road and Playland Parkway.

Suit Filed Against Rye and Con Edison

In the wake of the incident on August 28, 2025, Pirro filed suit in January with representation from her attorney ex-husband Al Pirro, longtime Harrison resident and political operative who received a last minute pardon and the end of President Trump’s first term (Pirro recently represented the developer for the 67 Grant Avenue project in Harrison).

The suit, against both the City of Rye and Con Ed, claims negligence surrounding the gas line work done in the roadway by Con Ed under the City’s jurisdiction, saying in part: “Defendants were negligent, careless, and reckless in the ownership, operation, maintenance, inspection, repair, restoration, and control of the roadway and surrounding area, and by failing to warn Ms. Pirro of the dangerous condition.”

The Wooden Block

Papers claim “Ms. Pirro tripped and fell over a large wooden block embedded in and protruding from under a steel plate covering the DPW 3919 excavation in the roadway, which constituted a hazardous, defective, dangerous, and unsafe condition.”

The court filing alleges “Ms. Pirro sustained serious personal injuries, including but not limited to bruises and contusions to the head, eye, face, and shoulder areas, together with pain, discomfort, and limitation of movement… As a result of defendants’ negligence, Ms. Pirro was confined to bed, required medical attention and treatment, has suffered, and continues to experience pain and suffering, inconvenience, loss of enjoyment of life, and economic damages.”

Both the City of Rye and Con Ed have filed for dismissals.

  1. So you walked into a construction zone, you didn’t look where you were walking, you fell and hurt yourself, you got up and walked away with both your face and your pride a little damaged?
Congratulations you just learned a life lesson we teach children.
    Walk away Jeanine..
