The Rye Baseball teamed earned their second official win of the 2026 season on Wednesday, April 8, defeating Yorktown 11-3. The Garnets surged for eight runs in the top of the seventh inning to turn a closely-contested contest into a wide margin of victory for the road win.

Lucas London earned the win in relief, throwing 2.1 innings of scoreless baseball with two strikeouts. Clayton McCarthy started and worked around hour hits and five walks to hold the Huskers to just three runs, two of them earned.

At the plate, the Garnets compiled nine hits, although Michael Bubeck was the only player with more than one. The eight-hitter went 2-3 and scored the go-ahead run in the final frame. His single in the seventh prompted a Yonkers pitching change, after which the wheels fell off for the hosts. Bubeck later walked in the inning, at which point the score was already 10-3.

Rye (2-2) will look to continue their momentum after the team trip to Florida in their next New York-based game, which is scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday 4/9, against Byram Hills. First pitch is set for 4:30pm for the road contest against the Bobcats.
