The write-in votes for the recent Rye City school board elections netted only 12 votes across 11 candidate names. In past years, as many as 40 to 80 or more write-in candidates received votes, including Tom Brady, Bill Clinton, Yosemite Sam, Mr. Met, Taylor Swift, and Stormy Daniels.
While some write-in votes are for actual residents, others are for fictional candidates and other votes are simply in poor taste.
