RowAmerica Rye put forth a successful showing at the 2026 US National Championships from June 11-14, earning four total medals, including one gold. The first-place finish came courtesy of the Girls Varsity Eight boat, which has now won three consecutive national titles since 2024.

“Rye’s results reflected months and years of consistent work by athletes and coaches,” RowAmerica Rye Director of Rowing Marko Serafimovski told MyRye.com. “We are very proud of our team.”

Rye qualified 21 boats and 126 athletes across different genders and age groups for the four-day regatta in Sarasota, Florida. Eleven boats reached the championship races, with four girls teams taking home medals. The Varsity Eight highlighted the bunch with their third consecutive gold medal, while the Second Varsity Eight, Youth Coxless Four, and U16 Eight all took home hard-earned silvers.

“The strong performances by the younger athletes underscored the depth of talent developing within the program,” Serafimovski continued. “The girls’ team continues to set the standard in American junior rowing.”

With one gold medal already secured, the Varsity Eight team continues their spring season at the prestigious Henley Royal Regatta in England. Rye has already travelled across the pond to begin training for the world-renowned international regatta, which begins June 30. RowAmerica Rye will compete against the ultimate level of competition, including boats from Great Britain, other US powerhouses, other European nations, and even Australia. In 2024, the Girls Varsity Eight Boat came in second place at this regatta.

“The club is no stranger to success at Henley,” Serafimovski said. “With another talented lineup preparing to race on the international stage, the program will once again have the opportunity to represent both RowAmerica Rye and American junior rowing against some of the best crews in Europe and elsewhere.”
