
Giuseppe Spoto, of Rye, NY passed away on Sept 9, 2026 at the age of 86. Born in Alessandria della Rocca in Sicily, Italy on March 10, 1940 to Pietro and Angela Spoto. He immigrated to the United States in 1958 working as a sous chef at an Italian restaurant at night while attending school during the day to learn English. Through hard work and determination, he eventually landed his dream job at Luna’s Restaurant on Mulberry Street in Little Italy in New York City. His time at Luna’s was made memorable when Luna’s was featured in the movie The Godfather and was given a part in the movie as a chef. This was an amazing accomplishment; he loved being part was part of history.
Being determined to make it in this world was a key factor in his success. With his beloved wife Concetta Spoto, the cherished father of Angela Zeolla (Anthony) and loving grandfather of Alyssa and Matthew. He is also the younger brother of Pietro Spoto (Grace). Finally, being reunited in heaven with his younger daughter Rosa Spoto.
Together with his wife Concetta Spoto they built a successful real estate empire through hard work, determination, and a shared vision for their future. What they created became more than just a business – it became a lasting legacy, one could proudly pass down from generation to generation.
Family and friends will gather on Monday morning 9:00-11:15 am at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, 767 Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, NY (914)-698-5968. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am at Resurrection Church followed by entombment at Ferncliff Cemetery Rosewood Building.
