Girls Soccer Breezes Past Eastchester Behind Sibling Connections
Rye Girls Soccer put up a seven-spot on Saturday night at Nugent Stadium, coasting to a 7-0 victory for their 7th win of the 2024 season. The Garnets dominated the Eagles from the opening kick off, moving the ball around nicely and taking advantage of their superior depth.
Charlotte Keenan scored the first two goals for Rye, assisted twice by her sister, senior captian, Lyla. Freshman Hannah Jachman continued her strong rookie season with two goals as well. Sisters Joy and Jill DeSanto added one goal apiece for the Garnets. The final girl to score was Claire Nemsick, who also had an assist for a multi-point performance. Bowyn Brown and Lucy Wyckoff would add assists as well.
Blake Sasse had 4 saves for the shutout win. Her and Tessa Labowitz now both have clean sheets in their last starts in goal.
Rye (7-0-1) will travel to Glover Field on Tuesday to take on Pelham. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 – watch it here. Watch the Garnets’ victory over Eastchester here.
