PHOTOS: Rye Rec’s 39th Annual Holiday Bonfire
Rye Recreation’s 39th Annual Holiday Bonfire on Sunday, December 8, 2024 was a fiery success. The evening began with an interactive magic show by Jon Cap and then moved to singing along with the Tri County Connection, a barbershop quartet that led the crowd in hymns, Hanukkah songs, Christmas carols, and popular holiday tunes.
The evening then moved to fire – a big one. Rye DPW and Rye FD constructed and managed the bonfire that lit up the Rec’s field, keeping everyone warm throughout the night. Children’s Philanthropy of Rye distributed holiday goody bags that helped raise funds for grocery gift cards and gifts for families in need within the Rye community, and the Rye Police Association collected donations for the United States Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots program.
