Maureen Mokrzycki, nee McAnaney, died at the Osborn Home in Rye on April 13, 2026. She was 78 years old.
She was a life long resident of Rye. She graduated in 1965 from the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich and in 1969 From St Mary’s College in South Bend, Indiana.
Mrs. Mokrzycki worked at American Can and Georgia Pacific Paper Co. She later became of docent at the Norwalk Maritime Museum for many years.
She was an avid fan of Notre Dame athletics and she and her late husband shared a passion for the New York Mets.
Maureen is survived by six of her siblings, Marybeth Barth of Rye, Sheila Kostenecki of Vero Beach, FL, Kathleen Glaser of Fort Collins, CO, Brian McAnaney of Kiawah, SC, Kevin McAnaney of Bethesda, MD and Joan Fay of Summit, NJ. She also leaves behind 25 nieces and nephews, as well as her long time caretaker, Evelyn Chiriguayo of Port Chester, NY and her close friend, Daniel Kelly of Rye.
Maureen was predeceased by her husband, Albin Mokryzcki and two brothers, Edward McAnaney and Francis McAnaney of New York, NY. She also was predeceased by her sister in law, Doris McAnaney and two brother in laws, John Hexamer and Andrew Kostenecki.
Maureen’s family would like to thank the staff at the Osborn for the wonderful care they provided over the last six years.
Maureen was buried at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, NY.
