The Taming of the Paul Shew

City_of_rye_sealWe are not sure if it is annual review time, a counter offer to keep him here or special dispensation for the verbal whip-lashing he takes from Councilman George Pratt, but the Rye City Council held a special early morning meeting on December 20th with a single agenda item.

The council voted to increase the compensation for City Manager O. Paul Shew by $8,000 as of January 1, 2007 and by $9,000 as of January 1, 2008.

Here is the roll call vote:
AYES: Mayor Otis, Councilmen Ball, Fahey, Hennes (by phone vote) and Seitz
NAYS: Councilmen Cunningham and Pratt
ABSENT: None
