Rye PD: Blind Brook Level Has Fallen/Risen; Clearing Trend But Still Expecting Runoff; Continue Flood Precautions/Awareness

Rye PD Update, 9am

At about 5:30 this morning, residents of flood prone areas of Rye were advised to begin evacuation due to flooding. We have experienced flooding primarily in the Indian Village area. Water levels at the Bowman Avenue dam have fallen and risen through the night. At this moment, the water level is decreasing again and weather has cleared somewhat; however, we will still be experiencing runoff from prior rain to our north, and additional rain may occur during the day. Weather can be erratic; therefore, we advise residents who have been flooded to continue implementing their flood/evacuation plans and precautions; those who have not experienced flooding thus far should remain vigilant and monitor conditions closely.
