BP Gas Station Plans to Add Canopy at One Boston Post Road

The planning commission is meeting Tuesday night. Perhaps interesting is #6 on the agenda – a re-do of the (now BP, formerly Gulf) gas station at One Boston Post Road. This is the first business ones sees driving into Rye on the Post Road from Mamaroneck heading North and right past the Rye Neck school.

Let's hope the "installation of canopy over new dispenser islands and other site improvements" reflect Rye sensibilities and don't look like and I-95 rest area.

9. Minutes

  1. It’s about time that things like this at Planning get posted before the meetings for the voters to see. Planning has resisted having their meetings video recorded, has resisted posting public documents in advance of meetings online and has resisted pretty much everything that would make their activities accountable to the voters. What that leads to is something like a Sustainable Playland claiming Rye has no say in something that will impact it directly and substantially. This gas station canopy may be fine. But it will be approved (or not) by our Planning elite before anyone can say Robert Moses.
