To continue a week of firsts, the Rye Town Park, under the governance of the Town of Rye, will raise a Pride flag this Saturday at 11:30am.  The Town also oversees Crawford Park in Rye Brook and will raise a Pride flag earlier in the day, at 9:30am.

The ceremony will be hosted by Town of Rye Supervisor Gary Zuckerman, along with Town of Rye council members Lindsay Jackson and Pamela Jaffee. Guests and ceremony speakers will include community leaders like U.S. Representative Jamal Bowman, alongside County Legislator Nancy Barr and others. The Council has invited students from Blind Brook, Port Chester and Rye Neck to attend, and to speak on behalf of the LGBTQIA+ youth in the area.

“The Town of Rye is proud to be an inclusive place to live, to work, and to enjoy our gorgeous outdoor spaces,” says Supervisor Zuckerman. “We are thrilled to open our two parks, Crawford and Rye Town Park, to these two Pride Month celebrations, and we welcome all our friends and neighbors to join us.”

The Rye Town Park Ceremony will be on Saturday June 5, 2021 at 11:30am across from the Barley Beach House restaurant.
