Girls Varsity Field Hockey One-d by Mamaroneck

Rye Girls Varsity Field Hockey was one-d by Mamaroneck on Monday, falling 0-1 at the away game.

“I could not have been more proud of how my girls played today,” said Rye Girls Varsity Field Hockey Coach Kelly Vegliante. “They fought to the end and never gave up – it showed in earning an offensive corner with no time left. We had opportunities to score but fell short. Our defense played lights out. Defender Morgan Puzzuoli and goalie Catia Lai played the best game of their career so far. We still need to tweak a few things before heading into playoffs but we are in a good place right now and looking forward to it”.

Rye goalie, Catia Lai, had 9 shots on goal and 7 goalkeeper saves. The season record moves to 12-3-1. Watch the replay of the game.
