He showcased his talent by participating in the 1989 and 1990 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournaments with a minor ice hockey team from Rye. Junior Career
Haggerty’s promising skills led him to play for the Detroit Junior Red Wings in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). His performance there caught the attention of NHL scouts, culminating in his selection in the second round, 48th overall, by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft.
Professional Career
Haggerty’s professional career spanned from 1996 to 2002. He played a total of 14 NHL games: one with the Toronto Maple Leafs during the 1995–96 season, ten with the New York Islanders over two seasons, and three with the Nashville Predators in the 2000–01 season. The majority of his career was spent in the minor leagues, where he continued to demonstrate his abilities on the ice. After retiring from professional hockey, Haggerty’s subsequent endeavors have remained private.
