The Rye Girls Lacrosse team fell in a non-league contest at Darien on Saturday, April 11, as the Blue Wave won 11-6. The Garnets spent most of the morning and early afternoon defending and battled hard to stay within shouting distance in the defeat.

Head Coach Michelle Mason gave a shoutout to the back end after the loss, including defenders Clare Nemsick, Rose Denvir, Peyton Leahy, Alex Wood, and goalie Dylan Ehrlich. Darien controlled time of possession and fired 19 shots on goal and several more that just missed. The Blue Wave have an elite offense annually, so holding them to 11 goals was a respectable performance from the Rye defense.

Offensively, Beau Whaling and Blake Sasse both recorded hat tricks. Sasse added an assist and two draw controls as well. Annie Toutlouse chipped in with two asists in her usual playmaking role.

Rye (2-3) is on the road again for their next game on Tuesday, April 14. They travel to Mamaroneck to return to New York competition against the Tigers.
