The Rye Baseball team capped the 2026 regular season with a shutout win on Tuesday, May 12, defeating Harrison 8-0. The Garnets will take a six-game winning streak into the postseason after their second win in as many games against the Huskies, with eight runs being their widest margin of victory since May 1.

The Garnets scored three times in the first and rode a two-hitter from Clayton McCarthy and Michael Bubeck to stay in the lead throughout the seven-inning contest. Rye’s offense mainly came from the top of the lineup, as all five 1-5 batters recorded at least one hit. Nolan Hutson and Luke Ontaneda combined for five RBIs.

Rye (15-5) will take their hot streak into postseason play. Last year, the Garnets went as far as the State semifinals, and will try to replicate that in Class AA thanks to a combination of their solid offense and breakout pitching staff.
