HomeGovernmentBudget Workshop Tonight (Monday, November 14, 2011)

Budget Workshop Tonight (Monday, November 14, 2011)

There will be a Budget Workshop held by Rye City Council tonight, Monday, November 14, 2011, at 8:00pm in the Council Room of City Hall.

There will be a discussion of the FY 2012 Budget including Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the Rye Free Reading Room Budget Review.

The next regular meeting of the City Council will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2011.

Meetings are also aired on Cablevision Channel 75 and Verizon Channel 39. We'll also see you on the Internet (live and archive).

  1. Anybody thought to ask what assumptions the budget has related to settlement of outstanding contracts? There could be significant retroactive pay in question. There should also, though, be a significant amount of money sitting in the City’s books representing unpaid increases that will be resovled based on the binding arbitrator’s rulings. I ask because these assumptions are probably what drive such a large increase without “functionally” increase city services. Being wise negotiators, the city would not want to discuss this info in public – at least until the settlements are dictated. But it is this kind of item which really drives spending / tax increases. And no one seems to be discussing it.
