The Rye Girls Lacrosse team braved the rain to take down Port Washington on Monday, May 5, winning 17-4. The Garnets scored the first eleven goals of the game and cruised to a comfortable victory over their Long Island foes.
“The Garnets rainy win over Port Washington was a full team effort,” Head Coach Michelle Mason told MyRye.com after the game. “We had ten players contribute goals… and our entire defensive squad kept Port to four.”
One of those ten was Caroline Doyle, who struck for two tallies on the afternoon. Her first in the opening half was the 150th of her high school career, an impressive milestone. She will enter her next game with 151 on her resume.
Rye (8-4) travels to Scarsdale for that next game on Thursday, May 8. The matchup at the Raiders’ Butler Field begins at 5:00pm. Watch the win vs Port Washington here.
